High Pass Sharpening Action

CODP High Pass Sharpening Action by Carl Botha
Sharpening of images can be a ‘mine field’ if you’re not sure of what you’re doing. Using the High-Pass Sharpening Action with layer blending is a quick, smart and non-destructive sharpening method. It’s easy, customisable and fully reversible.
Photoshop Version: This action has been tested on Photoshop CS and later versions
Requirements: This action works on Mac & Windows
Installation:
1. To install this action, locate the following folder : "…/Adobe Photoshop/Presets/Photoshop Actions"
2. Create a new folder within the above location and name it - "CODP actions"
3. Start up Adobe Photoshop
4. Open the Actions floating palette (Menu: Window > Actions)
5. Click on the small arrow at the top right hand corner of the palette and from the drop down menu choose "Load Actions"
6. Load your High Pass Sharpening Action file (from the folder you created earlier) to complete
7. Play the action
8. First you will be asked to open an image. Next you will be required to enter the radius value for the ‘strength’ of sharpening, usually a value of between 2-4 works well, then adjust the opacity of the Sharpening Layer to ‘fine tune’ it as required
