PHOTOGRAPHIC STUDIO HIRE

The College of Digital Photography, situated at 91 Oxford Road, Saxonwold, offers two Photographic Studios for hire.

• Studio 1 measures 10,5m x 6,5m
• Studio 2 measures 8m x 4m.

Both studios have a ceiling height of 3m. The studios are equipped with a lighting set up to suit your needs. Rates for this are provided below. Both studios have white walls and a white ceiling, and are equipped with white and black paper backgrounds mounted on a roller-chain system. Other background colours are available on request at an additional charge. Damage to the backgrounds will be charged at a proportionate cost per meter.

Lighting equipment that is available

• ELECTRA 400W studio flashes c/w umbrellas or softboxes x 4
• ELECTRA 800W studio flashes c/w umbrellas or softboxes x 2
• Polystyrene reflector / absorber boards 1,2m x 1,8m on movable stands x 6
• Reflector / diffuser 1m x 1,5m five-in-one on movable stand and boom
• Radio triggers and flash sync cables
• Extension cords and adapter plugs
• Posing stools / chairs
• Trestle tables
• Laptop and data projector can be arranged on request at an additional charge
• Black-out cloth is available on request
• Seperate His and Hers bathrooms
• There is access to a kitchen with fridge and refrigerator

Conditions

• Studio hours are Monday to Friday 08h30 to 16h30 unless otherwise arranged
• The minimum charge is for a half day (4hrs)
• The studio must be cleared by 17h00 unless otherwise arranged
• A cancellation fee of 50% applies if cancelled less than 24hrs before the shoot
• All hired equipment may only be used on site
• Insurance is not included and is the responsibility of the hirer
• Loss, damages and breakages will be charged at the full replacement / repair cost
• CODP will not be held responsible for any personal injury and / or loss of valuables

Rates

Studio Hire Rate per Full Day:

• Studio 1 - R3,500.00 including lights, stands, etc
• Studio 2 - R2,500.00 including lights, stands, etc

Studio Hire Rate per Half Day:

• Studio 1 - R1,900.00 including lights, stands, etc
• Studio 2 - R1,350.00 including lights, stands, etc

Rate per Hour R450.00 (minimum charge - half day rate applies)

Should you require an assistant please ask for this in your enquiry and you will be quoted accordingly.

VENUE HIRE

Studio 1 and Studio 2 can also be hired out on a room only basis subject to the above conditions. If you´re looking for a venue for your social club, lecturing needs, or staff training, the 2 Studios are equipped with rickstacker chairs, data projector and laptop. Studio 1 can accomodate 35 people and Studio 2 seats 15 people.

There is also a fully equipped Computer Room for hire. This room is equipped with 10 Windows XP Computers which are all networked, as well as rickstacker chairs, laptop and data projector.

Rates

Venue Hire Rate per Full Day:

• Studio 1 - R2,500.00 including chairs, laptop, data projector
• Studio 2 - R1,500.00 including chairs, laptop, data projector
• Computer Room - R3,000.00 including computers, chairs, laptop, data projector

Venue Hire Rate per Half Day:

• Studio 1 - R1,400.00 including chairs, laptop, data projector
• Studio 2 - R900.00 including chairs, laptop, data projector
• Computer Room - R1650.00 including chairs, laptop, data projector

Rate per Hour R330.00 (minimum charge - half day rate applies)

DARKROOM HIRE

There is also a fully equipped Darkroom for Hire:

• R800.00 per Full Day
• R400.00 per Half Day
• R100.00 per Hour
