Umuzi Photo Club Rocks Joburg
Fellow Photographers,
It is with humility and complete admiration that we give thanks to the College of Digital Photography! On the 9th of June 2010, we hosted our Umuzi Photo Club exhibition at 44 Stanley Avenue in Milpark. We had a packed house of over 500 people in attendance that night - some were enthusiasts of the venue, others were enthusiasts of social development but all were there to support the proud boys and girls that are our Umuzi Photo Club photographers. We send our thanks to all of you who attended as well as to all of you who supported the organisation by purchasing special edition prints. Without you, our kids could not start the change to better their surroundings as funds raised are used to address a social problem identified by the kids through their photography.
Another big thanks to the CODP for their incredible support in hosting and supporting two of our learners through their first fundamentals course – they can’t stop raving about it!

Umuzi Photo Club is an organisation that teaches photography to kids in developing communities around Joburg. We use photography as a means of promoting critical thinking and self-expression to raise social awareness by giving our kids a way to tell their stories to the world.

For now, our exhibition has moved to Antwerp, Belgium for a short stay and from there will continue on to be showcased in New York City in December.
